You will be given equal opportunities, but that doesnt mean you will be given equal rewards...

So he says...our Lee-der...

Speaking at his annual National Day Dinner at his Tanjong Pagar constituency, MM Lee mentioned a fair and equal opportunity for all deserving of it...but that doesnt mean you will receive same rewards...You will have to earn it, fight for it...

U muz wonder where the hell azmi got this information from?...Haha, mind you, i'm an avid viewer of News 5 Tonight, Asia Tonight, Primetime Morning...among other things... So that i'm constantly up to date with the latest happening around the world...

Geeky huh?...

Niwaez, back to what i was thinking of blogging about...Criticising Singapore and its government...haha...

I've said before, and i'll say it again...Singapore will never be fair and just, equal to all and all that sh*t... No matter how the government emphasizes on it...

First thing, they put a high emphasis on education...You dun have at least ur O levels, thats it for u brother...U wont go that far in life...

In fact, A levels or a polytechnic diploma arent good enough as well...

So where's the equal opportunity to all?...

Second, its a matter of ur race... Somehow, people tend to look down on other races, and only favours their own... Its kind of sad, but racism is more rampant than you thing... More often that not, u see clicks of people walking and sitting around, with only their kind!... One easy way of noticing racism is by reading and browsing thru the Classified. How many times have we come upon ads that says "Bilingual in English and..." , "...(race) preferred"... Goodness, where's the fairness in that!!!...

But as for me, i've been strangely fortunate to be blessed with friends who dont look upon skin colour, not juz now, but for my whole life. I've always be in a circle of friends where anybody of all races mingle together... Thank god for that...

I juz hope other Singaporeans can follow in our footsteps...

But i cant blame Singapore entirely...this kind of thing happens everywhere and anywhere in the world... India, China, America, Saudi Arabia, MALAYSIA (hehe...) ...anywhere!... Its kind of sad, that the majority tends to over power the minorities...But what to do...

And here we have, the MM saying equal opportunities for all...

How many times have we heard that from a minister?...

Twice, Thrice?...More like 9012349094318324 times...

Sigh...

Will someone slap me in the face and ask me why the hell am i blogging about this?...

Strange fellow, am I?...

Oh yah, was skipping channels juz now, and i stopped upon this programme on CNA... The History of Singapore... the one that was made for Discovery Channel for the whole world to see...

They mentioned about how Singapore is so damn freaking strict...

Coz why?...We're the country that caned that damn American... Remember that incident, that American dude caught for vandalism, and sentenced to 6 strokes of the cane (they say one 1 stroke is enough to make ur skin tear, and three will make even the strongest person collapse) ... We were under American pressure to release him and all...but we didnt...we juz merely reduce the strokes to four (thats still a pain in the ass) ... Kudos to the government on standing firm on their stand...

The issue of chewing gum was also mentioned. On how we obedient Singaporeans follow whatever the government say, and never question why we cant chew chewing gum?...Haha...

The last few minutes was entertaining...they touched on the Speakers Corner. They then cut to an interview with SM Goh, who mentioned that the Corner was so successful, that nobody uses it. Then he chuckles to himself...Haha...

Then there's a shot of a person, smartly dressed with notes in his hands, uttering words about the government and all...The camera zooms out...and it turns out the man was speaking only to himself!...There WAS NO ONE!!!...haha...

I had a Speakers Corner back in secondary school... It was supposed to give freedom to those who wish to speak their mind about the school...Thing is, the students were either too shy (or too scared?) to speak their mind, or had their scripts edited so much by the teachers that it is no longer worth mentioning to the other students... Five years on, the Corner is now a NE corner, where they display stuff relating to racial harmony and all...

PM Lee's goin to deliver his National Day Rally tmr...you bet that i'm goin to watch it...

Two days before my life as Metro employee begins...Wish me luck...

I've pondered thru my other entries, and have noticed countless grammatical errors...Atrocious... Shows how lazy i am to double check my entries... I juz tend to blog once thru and thats it, straight to publish post...

Here i am, goin around to other ppl's blog and criticising their grammar...Tsk tsk...

I bet this very entry has mistakes too, but what the hell...i'm juz lazy to read it over again...haha...

Timecheck...2120hrs...goin blog hopping now...

take care thou homies...for i will blog again to show thee what i think...

azmi out...
